Automated Packaging Systems

Drum Filling System

Reduce risk, increase your throughput, and save money with a custom automated solution for your drum filling system. If you are currently running labor intensive manual drum filling lines, you are risking human exposure to hazardous fumes and chemicals on an inefficient filling process.

EPIC will work with you to determine the right amount of automation needed for your drum filling system. Existing technology and equipment can be integrated to upgrade to a basic automated
system, or we can provide a new fully automated custom solution for your filling application.

There are many different design aspects EPIC works with when automating a drum filling line. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Drum Orientation
  • Empty & Full Drum Handling
  • Drum Filling and Sealing
  • Finished Drum Inspection
  • Cap Removal/Replacement
  • Leak Pressure Testing
  • Hazardous Fumes/chemicals purging
  • Palletizing

Automated Drum Filling SystemAutomated 55 Gallon Drum Filling Line

A hands-free drum filling system for a hot-fill chemical line was designed, integrated and installed by EPIC. Sets of four 55-gallon drums are received strapped together.

The system pressure tests each drum for leaks and fills all four drums with a 180°F chemical. The Bunge-hole cap is tightened down and full drums are re-loaded onto the truck. Read the complete 55-Gallon Drum Filling Line case study…
